Raising Funds for WFDU Radio
"Signal To Noise" is a noisy rock and roll radio show that airs on 89.1 WFDU in New York and New Jersey every Sunday night from 10 til 2, and focuses on loud independent and DIY music. Outside the NYC area, you can stream the program online at WFDU.FM.
February is pledge drive month at WFDU Radio, and this year, Signal To Noise is taking to GoFundMe to bring in funds to help keep the station operating for the next year.
In an age when most people discover new music by listening to whatever the digital music services are spoon-feeding, the age of passionate human DJs digging up great music for people to hear is rapidly going away. If you like what we do on Signal To Noise, here's your chance to help support the station that gives us four hours a week to entertain you. As a noncommercial radio station, virtually all of WFDU's operating expenses are paid by listener donations. We need your help, and every little bit makes a difference!
Make a donation of any kind, and we'll play the request of your choice during one of February's specialty shows, and announce your name on the air. Make a donation of $100 or more, and we'll let you program 15 minutes of music during any of the shows.
The only catches: 1) No profanity, and 2) Your requests need to fall into the format of one of our scheduled show themes:
• Sun, Feb 4, 10pm-2am: 1980s/90s indie rock
• Sun, Feb 11, 10pm-2am: "Skinny Tie" music - late 70s/80s New Wave
• Sun, Feb 18, 10pm-2am: LOCALS ONLY - NJ and NY indie rock
• Sun, Feb 25, 10pm-2am: indie and punk cover songs!
You can make multiple requests with multiple donations - just leave your request in the comments.
You can also make a pledge or donation by calling the station at [phone redacted] during the show.
