Rebecca Cass needs a new hip

Hello everyone, my name is Katie Strelecki and for those who may not know Rebecca (Duart) Cass is my mother. I am creating this site to ask for your help. Approximately two weeks ago my mother suffered a fall due to a failing hip which now requires surgery. Unfortunately the surgery cannot be performed for 2 months. Since that time she has been hospitalized in the Cape Cod Hospital and now the Pavilion Skilled Nursing Facility and will be out of work for approximately 4 to 6 months and possibly in the skilled nursing facility for the duration.
As many of you know my mother has put herself through Cape Cod Community College and graduated in 2016 in Legal Studies and as a member of Phi Theta Kappa honors society with a GPA of 3.9. Since that time she has been working in law firms. My mother has a dream to become an attorney and is currently enrolled at UMass Dartmouth, having been accepted into their Pre-Law program where she has continued to maintain her 3.9 GPA while working. It is my mothers dream to become a family law attorney and to give back to those less fortunate. After a lengthy interview process my mother was just offered an internship with Governor Baker which she must now decline due to her injury and situation.
My mother has been an inspiration to her daughters as well as the young adults she has taken in over the years, when their family life was less than perfect. She instilled in us that it is never to late to reach for your dreams, work hard and pay it forward. When not working and studying you can find my mother delivering food and vegetables from her garden to the veterans who live in her neighborhood.
Unfortunately while laid up my mother will have no source of income to pay for the basic necessities, rent, medical equipment, insurance, etc. Our family is doing what we can but it is not enough. It is my hope my mother can focus on getting well and not stressing on losing her insurance, house, etc.
