Rebecca Conquers Cancer

Donation protected
Rebecca was unexpectedly diagnosed with a rare and aggressive blood cancer called Blastic Plasmacytoid Dendritic Cell Neoplasm (BPDCN) the Wednesday before Thanksgiving 2016. She is currently participating in a clinical trial at The James Cancer Hospital at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center.  While the prognosis for BPDCN is extremely poor, Rebecca is hopeful that her age, the clinical trial drug SL401, and an excellent medical team will help her achieve remission.

Once remission is achieved, the next step in Rebecca's marathon toward a cure will be a bone marrow transplant. Recovery from this procedure can take months, and even years.  100 days, 1 year, and 2 years post-procedure are considered significant medical milestones demonstrating a successful transplant.

This is a serious battle that is going to take years to fully overcome.  The Weis family needs strength, positive thoughts, and prayers to get through this.

Many have asked how to help since there will be expenses associated with travel, multiple hospital stays, and significant care needs while she is an outpatient at home after transplant.  The best way is to donate here.  All of the funds will go directly to Rebecca, John, and Caroline to use for uncovered insurance, hospital, and in-home care related expenses as well as other related expenses that have come about due to this unfortunate circumstance.

Please consider contributing to the fund to ease this burden. The Weis family is so grateful for your support.
