rebuild Tashi and Lhakpa’s lodge
Donation protected
Sadly, on November 29th our dear friends Tashi, Lhakpa and Karma Sherpa's Ama Dablam Lodge burned to the ground in a devastating fire. Thankfully, no one was injured but the impact on their lives is devastating. They lost their home and business that they built with their barehands. This lodge was the community center of Khumjung where famous mountaineers congregated to experience Tashi’s generous hospitality.
Besides running a successful business, Tashi and Lhakpa are committed to making sure that all the children in the Kumbu Region receive an education by tirelessly advocating for the children and finding sponsors to fund living expenses for the families who have lost parent's in tragic climbing accidents. Tashi’s generosity is legendary and is renowned through out the region for helping young and old.
Tashi and Lhakpa travel to Winter Park each summer where they have a business selling Nepalese jewelry. Anyone who has been privileged to meet them is immediately drawn in by their humble, hardworking, charming nature and soon will have Nepalese friends for life.
We are asking you to help Tashi, Lhakpa and Karma rebuild their home and their livelihood. Unfortunately, Tashi’s magnificent Prayer Room with many Tibetan Budhhist
texts whose walls were lined with intricate frescoes depicting scenes from the life of Padmasambhava is forever lost. But we can help our dear friends recover. Please consider a donation of any amount, no matter how small will go directly to Tashi, Lhakpa
and Karma.
