Rebuilding My Goat Herd

Donation protected
My name is Lauren Munson, and I am a sophomore in FFA at Newsome Highschool. On Wednesday morning, I dealt with the most tragic and heartbreaking incident of my life. All five of my friend Madi and I’s goats had been attacked by a pack of dogs. Luna, River, and the babies- Clover, Paisley, and Nola had no chance against these aggressive dogs and unfortunately passed due to their injuries very shortly after. My personal goat was Luna. I had just sent in all of her paperwork for fair and was looking forward to show her at the state fair in february. Unfortunately, now I will not be able to attend fair alongside my other chapter members, which is crushing for me. I know that Luna would want me to continue showing, so me and Madi have agreed to rebuild the herd and in order to do so, we will need to make some improvements to our ranch. This was our first time raising baby goats, but now that we know how easy it is to lose them, we are going to make sure it never happens again. We need to concrete the edges of the fence, and hopefully install a camera. We will also be building a shed that we can store them into in the night so they are protected from any future attacks. Nothing can replace our babies that we have lost, but their legacy will continue into our new ranch. :)
