Cooper Family Support Fund

Early morning on Friday, January 29th a fire broke out in the home of Suzanne and Peter Cooper. Thankfully the family who has a 6th grade son Griffen and their beloved rescue dog Cookie were able to escape unharmed. They literally left with only the clothes on their back. Unfortunately their home and all of their contents have been destroyed including all of their irreplaceable personal belongings. While the family is physically okay and so grateful to be alive they are emotionally devastated as one can only imagine.

They are temporarily staying at a local hotel while things get sorted out with their insurance and a plan for rebuilding their home is in place. While they are not sure exactly how long they will be out of their home, conservatively the estimated time is anywhere from 6-18 months.

While insurance should cover much of the cost of the material things that they have lost, there are still deductibles and many expenses that will not be covered. Additionally, their insurance will not cover lost wages which will be significant as they both work for themselves and only earn what they produce. Much of one or both of their time will need to be spent on the extensive red tape in dealing with the insurance company, contractors, estimates, etc. in dealing with this tragic situation. This will result in substantial lost income for them.

The Coopers are extremely hard working people and they are always the first in line to help others in need and lend a helping hand. It takes a Village at a time like this and with everyone’s help, loving hearts and generosity we can make help this broken family become whole again.
