reclaimed wood
Donation protected
Hi I'm Chuck, a woodworker with more than 40 years in the trade.
My brother and I have a small business that we are trying to guide in a new direction with an emphasis on tree conservation.
We make a wide range of products from simple cutting boards to larger custom pieces.
Here in the southeast we have a lot of pretty nasty storms that result in trees being damaged or knocked down completely .
It's heart breaking to see these beautiful trees reduced to nothing more than mulch when there is so much potential locked inside.
Our goal is to reclaim this wood for our projects.
The issue is that to do so it takes months if not longer to cure lumber to a state that's suitable for use.
This is where you come in !!
In order for us to reach our goal of sourcing all of our lumber from trees downed by nature and NOT cut for profit, we need to upgrade our equipment and build a Kiln for curing this green timber.
This would greatly reduce the drying time required and allow us to meet our goals in terms of production.
We realize this is just a drop in the ocean towards tree conservation but it's our small contribution.
Your help would be greatly appreciated !
