Red Mites Breast Cancer Fund
Donation protected
We are the Pace Red Mites 10U football team in Pace, FL. Our league, PARA Youth Sports, is a strictly volunteer organization. Our goal for the Pace Red Mites is to teach the boys about the game of football, the meaning of TEAM, and what is expected of young men as they grow older. Each year during October, our team partakes in the football league's Breast Cancer Awareness, which encourages players to wear pink to show support and bring awareness to this devestating disease. This year, we wanted to expound on that goal so that the boys would truly understand what it means to be one conscious TEAM and fight for something real...not just winning a game. Our ten year old players work hard on the practice field and the game field. They are quickly learning the game of football and the strategy of the game. But they must also continue to learn the concept of being TEAM players...that it is not just about being part of a team in a game....that we are ALL TEAM PLAYERS in life and that with contributions from every team member, our world will be a better place to live and to thrive. To do this, we have organized a fund drive to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and provide fundraising for our team. The boys are accepting pledges and flat donations for every yard they gain on the field during games. Not only will they be motivated to excel on the field, but they know that with each yard they gain, a portion of their pledges will go toward saving someone's life with breast cancer. With your help, we can make a difference in the lives of breast cancer victims...we can teach young children that it is not all about a game...it is about life and what you do with your motivation that encourages you to become a strong, empathatic individual. Our fund drive goes through October 4, 2016. Seventy percent (70%) of the funds we raise will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation by the Pace Red Mites. The remaining amount will go toward helping our boys with team events and paying for pink jerseys which we hope to obtain before the month of October, 2016. The boys will not only wear pink socks to honor breast cancer victims...we hope to buy them power pink jerseys to show everyone in the league that we are serious about Breast Cancer and the affects it has on so many lives. Many of our players' families have been affected by this disease and it would mean the WORLD to us if you could help us by contributing to this Beast Cancer Fund. Sincerely, Tammy Campbell, Team Mom
