Support for Refugees

Exasperated by the tepid response to the global refugee crisis, three friends, singer and social entrepreneur Andrea Pizziconi , Grammy award-winning trumpeter and platinum producer Keyon Harrold and businessman and political strategist Jonathan Reynaga were moved to release an original song “Running” to create awareness and raise funds to support the urgent needs of the over 60 million people who have been displaced worldwide. To ensure the song captured the sentiments of refugees, the lyrics and music were shared with recently resettled refugees, a process facilitated by the International Rescue Committee (IRC).
Released globally on World Refugee Day, Grammy award-winning singer Gregory Porter and Academy award-winning rapper and actor Common were enlisted by their long-term collaborator Harrold to record the song called “Running”. This is the first installment of an initiative called Compositions for a Cause to advance social justice and humanitarian causes through innovative music collaborations.
Proceeds from “Running” will benefit organizations such as Refugees International (RI), Human Rights First (HRF), and the International Rescue Committee (IRC), as well as other frontline NGOs struggling to address the current crisis. Proceeds will support initiatives such as education for refugee children, emergency relief, and supporting global advocacy for rapid resettlement plans.
All the featured artists and partners involved in the “Running” campaign have donated their time and contributions to the project and campaign. #RefugeeSong
