Remove Archie's tumour

Hi everyone
For those of you who don't know me, I'm Mel. I have waited for a really long time to be ready to adopt a dog. This was more than just waiting until I moved into the perfect house for a pet to share, but saving to manage all the ordinary expenses that come with pet ownership, and of course, waiting for the perfect dog to come along.
On my birthday, I got a call to tell me there was a recently surrendered, seven-year-old Westie boy called Archie who would soon be ready for a new home. Archie and I didn't jump into things lightly; we had lots of dates before he came home with me, he was vet checked by the rescue, and then we had a ten day trial run to make sure we were right for each other.
We have completely fallen in love. Archie is a happy dog who loves his morning walks. He's affectionate and loves pats and belly rubs, dinner time, and sleeping. He's happy to come out with me and sit under the table at a coffee shop and he makes friends wherever he goes (even the neighbour kids routinely knock on my door and ask if Archie can come out and play with them).
But sadly, while Archie was vet checked before I rescued him, a few days after he came home, I found a little lump on the back of his right hind leg. It looks like a nasty pimple. But it's actually a tumour with cells from two kinds of malignant cancers inside (one is a mast tumour and the other is a sarcoma). It will have to be removed, it's not a little job and it's close to a set of lymph nodes so they're coming out too.
Obviously, I expected the unexpected with a new dog, especially given he's a rescue with a largely unknown medical history. But the magnitude of this particular unexpected thing, and the cost of the surgery is a lot more than I can cope with. I'm going to do whatever I can (sell some things and save wherever possible, etc).
Some wonderful, generous friends have asked to help us out and encouraged me to set up this GoFundMe when I started talking about taking out a loan to help pay for Archie's treatment rather than returning him to the rescue. I won't part with him, so I'll do whatever it takes to keep him happy, healthy and loved.
I don't expect to raise the full amount, but any small amount you can spare would be so gratefully accepted by me and Archie too. We don't have much to offer in return but a coffee at our place, a wag of Archie's crooked little tail and our extreme gratitude.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
(Updates on how the money will be used for tests and associated surgery are coming).
