Betty Chinn: Replenishing Supplies
Donation protected
Over the past 20 or so years Betty Chinn has strived for her dream to help the homeless in our community. Coming from very hard childhood experiences surviving China and eventually ending up in the United States, Betty didn't speak to others around her for a very long time. It was until she was working at a local school that she discovered her calling. One of her students she worked she discovered to be homeless and after that moment in time she knew she was needed. She didn't waste any time or let anyone stop her from helping this population in our community. It wasn't easy and took a lot of patience and time to get to where she is today. Every single day Betty rises before the rest and starts her routine of traveling from one end of the County to the other delivering children to schools, and making sure her clientele is up, fed, and moving towards success. Her biggest goal is to not only help the people that are in need, but to better these people to their greatest ability. She wants them to strive and become contributing citizens to this community. She comes with no judgement, but just her open arms to everyone that walks in her path. In the fearful world of being homeless Betty has gained the trust with this community, that is why she is so successful in her work. On Wednesday June 28th, 2017 Betty's heart was broken. She discovered that the location where she holds all her materials to supply her needs to help the community was completely ransacked and destroyed. Her biggest heartbreak was to discover that not only was almost everything destroyed that it was the very people in the community that she puts her heart and soul into that destroyed her property. This account is created to not only replace as much as possible that was lost, but to lift the spirits and hope to the one person who deserves the word, Betty Chinn. These funds will go directly to Betty Chinn and to replace the cost of all materials lost in this devastating incident.
