In the animal rescue world one of the biggest fears we rescuers have is having a car accident during transport days. This is when a rescue travels near OR far to help save many lives from a high-kill shelter.
On January 13th, a couple of volunteers with Frosty's Fosters Animal Rescue were traveling back to Wisconsin after pulling 60 dogs and cats from a high kill shelter. These dogs can range from puppy to senior, to handicap to pregnant moms. This was their freedom ride. They ALL had foster homes waiting patiently for them to come to their new home. However mother nature had other plans in-store for them.
When the transport van entered Remington Indiana, their worst fear happened. The van hit a patch of ice, the van spun out of control and crashed. Luckily everyone is OK. They asked for help from some locals in town, but help was staggered due to weather conditions. NOW they are stranded, waiting for help with all these dogs patiently waiting in the cold. Luckily one of their volunteers reached out to us at Fetcha. We were able to network and find some amazing souls to come to help keep all of them warm and get them back on their feet until the new van came.
They are so very thankful to each individual who could help in such a horrible situation.

In rescue, when something this traumatic happens it will be devastating to the rescue. It could cause a rescue to go under. HOWEVER, I feel if everyone comes together to show them how much their volunteer hours, the lives they save and all the work that is put in, will all make a huge difference. One of the ways we are asking is through donations for this rescue. Any size of donation to help them get back what they lost. They are a non-profit 501c3. Everything they earn financially is done through fundraising, donations and adoption fees- There is NO state assistance.
By sticking together as a society, we will be able to make a difference in a world that can be so cruel. Lets make some lemonade out of those lemons life has now handed them!
What your donation would go to:
Cover costs on damaged vehicle (It looks like it could be totaled)
Cover costs on a new transport van (If needed)
NEW crates for those that may have been damaged
Vet Costs due to any that may have some injuries
If there are ANY remainder donations left over, it will go into the rescue to help them care for future animals in their care.

Paw in hand, together we stand.
