#RestoreCrashboatBeach
I am raising money for the locals of Crashboat Beach who have been devestated by Hurricane Maria. I have been visiting the Northwest of Puerto Rico multiple times a year for the last 15 years; I was married in the area, and my children consider Crashboat beach their home away from home. I several local friends who work on Crashboat beach, and live in Aguadilla and nearby towns, like Moca and Isabela. This beach is where many locals work, and rely on the money from the tourists to feed themselves and their families. I am raising funds to help support them, and provide them with supplies, like batteries, flashlights, candles, and money for food and water, and other basic supplies.
Prior to the hurricane, the locals have always spoken about the challenges of the economy. But regardless of their economic struggles, there was always happy times at Crashboat beach.
Sadly, Hurricane Maria completely destroyed the beach and everything in its path, leaving many families without power, food, roofs, homes, cars, businesses, etc.
I have been trying to contact my friends who live in the area, and the entire communicaiton grid has been wiped out. There is no way to contact my friends to know that they are ok. It has been extremely challanging for relief organziations to get supplies to the NW of PR. The Airport was damanged, and the bridige leading to Isablea was destroyed, along with several roads.
I learned that the dam was also faliling, and over 70k from Isabela had to be evacuated.
When I saw a video of what Hurricane Maria did to Crashboat beach, it was completely unrecognizable. The boardwalk, restaurants, houses, the fish market, and fisherman’s beautiful hand painted boats…everything has been damaged.
Here is a link of the destruction: http://www.msn.com/en-ie/video/headlines/hurricane-maria-causes-damage-in-puerto-rico-town/vi-AAsmK8J
The people are in dire need of basic supplies, clean water, food . This GoFundMe site is intended to help the locals in the area. The donations will be used to provide relief, supplies, and donations to the locals who work on Crashboat beach. I plan to make withdrawls from the campaign and send supplies through the mail to beneficiaries. All purchases and check disbursement will be docimented with reciepts.
It deeply saddens me to watch the events in PR unfold, and wactch the peole and place that i loved so much get destroyed. I am asking everyone to support this cause. Many thanks.

One of my Friend, who works on Crashboat Beach, and sells Gorro

This Friend is known as the Pelican Whisperer; his job on Crashboat was selling necklaces and training the pelicans to do tricks. I am sure the Pelicans did not survive the storm.

This is (how i will always remember) Crashboat beach -scerene and picturesque.
