*Reunite Family with Dog after Deportation! #4L4J
Tax deductible
“Hi I am Sophia (my friends call me Sophi). My family was abruptly deported from the United States to Mexico. They were forced to leave me behind. My family has never forgotten about me. They FaceTime with me and sing me Spanish songs monthly since we got separated. 4Legs4Justice Rescue is raising money to help get me back to them!! My mom and dad have now reestablished themselves financially and have a stable home there. They are HOME to me….wherever they are is my home. Please help me raise money to pay for me to fly and pay import fees and specific crate so that I may fly from USA to Mexico…it costs $4,400. My flight is on January 24, 2019. Thank you for any contribution. Me and my 4year old human brother are most thankful. I can’t wait to be with him again, the love of my life.” – Love you, Sophi

Photo: Sophia dreaming of seeing her family again...
Sophia dreams of day to be reunited with her family in Mexico. Her Spanish family was abruptly deported from Alabama back to Mexico. Please help us fly her to them. They couldn’t arrange travel for their dog but trusted us with their baby. They even typed a beautiful heart wrenching letter for us to give to her adopters (see photo below and get ready to cry).
But we decided that there is no better family for her than her original family who has raised her since she was abandoned at 3 weeks old. Her family, The D’s, are reestablished financially and have stable employment in Guadalajara, Mexico. We have stayed in very close contact with them. We FaceTime with them often for Sophia and them to talk together and they sing Spanish songs to her. It’s a precious sight...she licks the iphone when they sing to her and they cry each time they see her (see photo below). Sophia loves to dance and loves music so much…but loves her family the most. We feel that this family deserves to be reunited. Please consider donating any amount to help this little boy reunite with his dog, help this dog Sophia reunite with her family, and help these loving parents reunite with their furbaby!

Let us tell you a little about this precious girl. Her family contacted us requesting to surrender her to us because they were being deported to Mexico the following week. We've heard many excuses, but this was a first...and we believed them. So we took Sophi into our rescue a few days before they were deported. They love Sophi immensely! Her mom sent us darling photos and the most heartwrenching letter "To Sophi's new family" for when she's adopted. (will post at the bottom of this post).

Well when we got Sophi she had a meltdown because for her whole life since she was 3 weeks old she was with the same loving family…and then this family was forced to split up. It was hard on her, she shut down and wouldn’t come out of the crate- and even growled at us. We called her family in Mexico so they could talk to her on the phone and hopefully that would help Sophia trust us while we held the phone with her familiar voices on speaker phone. It slowly worked. Her family in Mexico would call us and we put them on speaker phone so that they could talk to Sophi. They talked to her so kindly in Spanish and then they SANG TO SOPHI through the phone. Wanna know what we did? We cried, because it was beautiful to hear them sing to their beloved pet whom they were forced to leave behind and even with cultural and language boundaries they sought out a rescue to take their family member, their pet…and we leveled with them through the love of a dog. It was humanizing and renewed our view of good people in this world. The cultural bridge that connected because of one love for this dog is beautiful.
She had been in a Spanish speaking household with dark haired people who loved her dearly...they danced with Sophi and sang Spanish songs. So when we took Sophi in, she refused to come out of the crate. She didn't know English. She lived in a home where Spanish was the language spoken. She had not seen many blonde haired, fair skinned, blue eyed people. She growled at us. But after patience, love, and a few professional training sessions…she loves us. Her best buddy is our mini-volunteer, a 12 year old little girl, Emily, who has the kindest heart for animals. She and Sophi deeply connected and have an amazing bond.
Sophi LOVESSSS Spanish music. She will dance and turn in circles when it comes on. It's soooo funny.
Annnnnd FYI: her family in Mexico...they still call Sophi weekly and text/message to check on her. We facetime on Facebook monthly!

LETTER FROM HER MOM & DAD:
For you, new family of my little Sophi, thank you very much for having noticed her, you will not regret it, I hope she makes you immensely happy as much as we do, please if she is sad give her a hug let her know that she is not alone and that you they will also love her, have patience, I imagine that her behavior will be difficult the first weeks, even here at home, it was the last days maybe she did not understand what was happening but she sensed it, she was very nervous, she cried when she did not see us for a minute, she even received some scolding for doing the bathroom inside the house, she knew something was wrong ?
I know that we do not all treat our puppies in the same way, I only ask you never to go cold, hot or hungry, here was always with us at all times, unfortunately I did not have a yard where I could play, hopefully and with you I can have it so I can play, jump, if not, it does not matter, you can be happy without that, just walk. The car is happy, she is not very disciplined when going for a walk, but she is not to blame, unfortunately the last months she did not go walking because I have a problem in the back which prevented me from taking a daily walk, that has left her very unhappy. Thank you for giving her this opportunity and I hope that you will love those beautiful green eyes very much. These are crossed feelings, I feel happy that you have found a family but at the same time my heart is very broken. Thank you, blessings. Now you have a little bit of my heart ... and it's called Sophia! I love her with all my heart.
We are being deported next week back to Mexico. Thank you for giving me peace for having to leave her behind, the hardest choice.
All my love,
R

Now it’s going to cost at least $4,400 to fly Sophia to Mexico City, Mexico. Her family is willing to drive 7 hours one way (14 hours round trip) to pick her up from MEX airport and then drive back to their home in Guadalajara, Mexico. She will depart from USA at Miami International Airport (which is a 10.5 hour drive one way from Anniston, Alabama…where we are located).
****$4,400 ITEMIZATION of COSTS = $1875 (import/export flight and details and USA pet broker company), $1,200 (Mexico’s Custom’s clearance and taxes and Mexico broker fees), $750 (required special breed crate), $200 (International and Interstate Health Certificates, vet office visit fee), $375 (approx. gas roundtrip to drive her to Miami Airport for departure).
(most all airlines denied us because Sophia has pitbull in her bloodline despite her not being full blooded. Mexico and USA require a pet broker for International flights…hence why we have attached three of the least expensive quotes from the three pet brokers below.)

Sophia is a loving girl. Her favorite thing in this world is her little human (children)!! Second is her big human. And then rope toys! Sophi enjoys playing in water too...loves the water.lol. She’s a very feminine dog. Her colors are rare and that pink nose is precious. Guess what else? She has a tan spot on her left side that is in the shape of HEART! Really! It’s so fitting.
Sophi is a huge music lover!! She does enjoy all music though. Sophi girl likes to dance too. If humans are standing up salsa dancing or twirling with arms up singing...Sophi will twirl too!
