Ron Haggerty's Cancer Fund

Ron Haggerty of Sarasota, FL., continues to fight colorectal cancer that was diagnosed in November 2012. After chemo, radiation, surgery, more chemo, two more surgeries and alternative treatments, the cancer has metastasized (spread to other sites in the body). He and his wife, Debbie, have traveled to Ann Arbor, Michigan and Atlanta , Georgia to find alternative treatments after conventional doctors said there was little they could do for Ron other than to try chemo to extend his life. Ron opted out and went for alternative treatment and quality of life. Although the alternative treatment gave him more time, the cancer has spread to his liver. He and his family have returned to a new conventional doctor with chemo pills to fight the cancer in the liver. Currently, Debbie has taken an unpaid leave from her teaching job to be home to take care of Ron 24/7 with family and friends support. Over the 2 1/2 years of this journey, the cost of fighting has put a tremendous financial burden on them.

I, Luke Labadie, a friend of the family, set up this fund to support Ron and Debbie to cope with these expenses. NONE of the alternatives treatments were covered by insurance and they have had to pay out of pocket expenses even with insurance.


The goal we are trying to reach will not cover all of the expenses that have piled up for them, but ANY contribution will be greatly appreciated by Ron and his family. Thank you! Let's help him WIN THIS FIGHT!
