Richardson Family Fire Relief
Donation protected
Please help in the support of our Phi Sigma Sigma sister and fellow sonoma state student, Kalia Richardson and her family who lost their home in the sonoma county fires. Thankfully they all made it out unharmed, however they are in need of help. They would never ask for help from anyone themselves, this being said the Sonoma State chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma has started this go fund me page in order to do all that we can. Anything and everything helps. Please keep those affected in your thoughts and prayers.
A letter from Kalia:
Hi all! I wanted to share a bit more of our story and some ways you can help.
My dad told me the reason he was awake and (somewhat) aware of what was happening outside was the downstairs tv kept turning on by itself. After going downstairs to turn it off twice he decided to stay up. After the power went off, he knew it was time to leave and my parents got out 5 min before the mandatory warning.
My dad was able to grab a few things like a couple shirts he never wears and our safe. My mom was only able to carry her purse, my dog, and her array of medicines (transplant patient- she has a ton). Everything else is gone.
I truly believe that it was my brother watching over us- making sure my dad woke up in time. I’m so thankful my parents and dog are safe and well. And I feel truly blessed to have so many people offering help and caring about my family. Thank you all.
So many people are asking what they can do to help and my mom doesn’t really know at this point. You could share our gofundme page, send us any gift cards you have laying around, SEND ME PICTURES (digital or physical) you may have of my family especially of my brother! I would so appreciate that as I am most upset about losing everything I had left of him. You can also please help other people who were affected by the fire. We need to come together during this devastating time. Thank you for all your love and support❤️
