Rick and Lolene Rios Paradise Fire

My family has lost everything, dad is in UC Davis with burns to his hands and will need skin grafts. My step moms body has not been recovered yet. Will need to prepare funeral arrangements and find dad a new place to live, travel expenses for myself. UPDATE: I more than likely will lose my job in this process. It's going to be a long road ahead. I am not even sure if they had homeowners insurance as my step mom was the one that handled everything in the household. UPDATE 11/13/18- Still no remains and we wait for word from the Butte Co. Sheriff's office. Dad is doing ok considering, just moments of breaking down. Family has been visiting and keeping him company. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers.. Update 12/29/2018 Jed has cremated Lolene's remains and we are in Texas now for the holidays staying with my mom. Travel has been rough as it's been years since Dad actually drove long distances or flown. It's been rough as he doesnt understand much of what's going on. There are moments where hes been in denial and having nightmares due to PTSD. Prior to coming to Texas we stayed with a cousin and in hotels as I tended his wounds. He's healed up nicely but not doing his hands exercises as he should because hes taken to being obstinate at times. Rented a car for a month and that took a chunk along with food, gas for traveling back and forth to family. Doctors apts, shopping, medicine supplies that weren't covered under insurance. Flights to Texas as we had no where to go for the holidays where I could rest and take care of me so I can take care of him and everything else. It's been an exhausting time and I've been sick twice and I have surgery myself that's been delayed since I no longer have health insurance because my job had to let me go due to me being in California too long taking care of Dads business and health.
