Rikki Evans' Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Hi friends,
Rikki Evans (known to many of us on Facebook as Rikki Bobbie) needs our help. Earlier this week she was admitted to the University of Washington Medical Center with alarming symptoms including dizziness and losing consciousness after a recent bout of strep throat. After several days and grueling medical tests including three lumbar punctures and a cervical puncture, doctors have concluded that she likely has meningitis.
We're not sure how long Rikki will remain hospitalized, and even when she's released she'll face a long recovery time. While she should be able to stay employed and keep her health insurance through FMLA, any time off from work for her is unpaid. She has already missed several days and has some critical living expenses she needs help to pay for, including her rent, car payment, car insurance, and gas for traveling to doctor's appointments. She will also likely incur some health expenses, including deductibles, copays, and prescriptions.
When you live paycheck to paycheck, an illness like this can be absolutely devastating. Rikki is an amazing person. She's kind, thoughtful, generous, warm, and funny. I know that with support she'll be able to bounce back from this. By helping her keep her car and a roof over her head, we'll be able to keep her focused on what's most important - her recovery. Please share this campaign and give whatever you can, even if it's just a few dollars to help this extraordinary woman. She has gone through some unimaginable challenges in her life - let's make sure that she knows that this time she isn't alone and that she has our support.
