Morgantown High Band--Pearl Harbor

Tax deductible

The Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade Foundation has selected the Morgantown High School Band to participate in December 2016 events commemorating the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.  We have the honor of representing Morgantown and the State of West Virginia as we honor those veterans who were present on that fateful day as well as those who served on the Battleship USS West Virginia, which sank on that day.

Founded in 1927, the MHS Red & Blue Marching Band has, over the years, become one of the finest high school marching bands in the country.  Now numbering more than 250 members, the band has performed in many high-profile, invitation-only events, notably: the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington, D.C. (2014), the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade (2013), and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City (2009 & 1963).

The commemorative trip will include visits to historical sites, geographic landmarks, and cultural events.  Additionally, students will place a wreath to honor the 3,784 who have served on the USS West Virginia near her mooring site.

This is where you come in.  You can participate in this historic event through your monetary support of the MHS band.  The cost per student for this trip is around $2,900.00.  We hope to make this affordable for these students by reaching our goal of $900,000.

Thank you in advance for your donation.  Help us “Ring the Bell” in honor of those who served!
