Round Meadow Chorus - Carnegie Hall

We are the 4th and 5th Grade Chorus from Round Meadow Elementary School in Los Angeles, and are thrilled that we will be performing with the New England Symphonic Ensemble at Carnegie Hall in New York City on April 28, 2018! We are the only Elementary School that will be performing along with other High School and Adult choirs from around the country. We are excited to be singing the opening and closing songs from Randall Thompson’s "Frostiana: Seven Country Songs", based on poems by Robert Frost, and three of the seven movements from Dan Forrest’s "Jubilate Deo." It is such an honor to perform on a stage that has hosted artists ranging from Yo-Yo Ma all the way to The Beatles.
Since September, we all have been working hard at fundraising -- hosting bake sales, caroling at holiday events, garage sales and more -- but, in order for us to reach our goal to make this once in a lifetime opportunity happen, we still need to raise a total of $55,000 by February 15, 2018. Your help will cover our travel expenses and fees from Los Angeles to New York for our group of 51 people. We especially need help in covering the cost of our principal and music director.
For our students, this is an incredible educational opportunity that transcends the classroom. And for some, it may be the spark of inspiration and imagination that will be the beginning of their lifelong journey into the performing arts.
With your encouragement and support we can get there. Any dollar amount helps us get closer to our goal and we are grateful for your consideration. Please join us in helping to turn our dream into a reality.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
