Mark’s Healing Heart
Donation protected
As most of you know, Mark suffered a massive heart attack on 7/14/18. We learned later that his father had a heart attack at 40 yrs old, so genetics was the primary factor. Noah and I were home and I was able to perform CPR while Noah called 911. Firefighters from Palm Harbor Fire Rescue Station 66 and paramedics arrived in less than 4 minutes and never gave up hope as they continued to shock his heart 13 times. Staff at Florida Hospital in Tarpon Springs took wonderful care of him for 2 weeks. The first week he was in a medically induced coma to give his brain and heart the best chance for recovery. Miraculously, he was discharged home on 7/28 with lots of medicines and follow up appointments. He is doing well, but will not be able to watch the number of dogs (Rover.com) he had been previously due to getting run down very easily and needing to rest more often. He does not have insurance, but we are exploring every resource including: applying for Medicaid and Social Security disability. We are a team and I would do anything for him, but my social worker paycheck is not going to cut it alone until disability kicks in or he regains enough strength to resume his normal workload. So many people have already come forward to help by visiting, cooking meals and praying and we are grateful for it all. Please consider making a donation to help us get through this rough patch. It will be repaid to others tenfold when we are back in our feet. Thank you for your consideration.
