Road to the WFC 2017 Qualifier

Floorball is a sport similar to hockey, in that players square off in a 5-on-5 format, each team with a goalie. Instead of racing after a puck, however, each team seeks to score on their opponent, as often as possible with a lightweight ball. The sport is played with minimal equipment, and has values in speed and technique. The sport is highly regimented, with penalties for checking and specific types of stick contact, among other infractions.
Team Canada Women's National Floorball Team has an opportunity to qualify for the 2017 World Floorball Championship in Slovakia. To qualify, the team must defeat the United States in a 2-game aggregate in early February of 2017. This qualifying event will be played in Markham, ON during the first weekend of February 2017.
Floorball, in Canada, is a grassroots sport. This means that all costs associated with attendance and participation in events are the responsibility of each individual player. To try and reduce the impact of these costs on our young team, we are seeking your assistance.
We are hoping to raise $3000 as a team to help reduce individual costs. If we are successful in reaching our goal, the individual cost per player could be reduced by as much as $150. With many team members attending university, money can become tight. With your support, our girls can focus on their training, nutrition, and play book, not on their nickels and dimes.
Every donation helps, and we greatly appreciate even the smallest of contributions. Floorball is a growing sport in our country, and with your help we hope to elevate awareness even further. Join us on the road to WFC2017! We hope to see you along the way...
