Robert's Orphanage - Third Phase
Donation protected
Many children of the orphanage in Luweero, Uganda have lost their parents due to a civil war and others are continuing to lose their parents from HIV/AIDS.
Robert is a CSU Facilities management employee and CSU student that was born and raised in Luweero. He has already earned his degree in political science and is working towards a degree in teaching, while working as a custodian and at McDonalds to help raise money for the project.
My name is Laura and I am a friend of Robert's and have been working with him on this project for the past 3 years. I am also a CSU student, getting my master's degree in Health and Exercise Science.
In the past 3 years we have been able to build 2 buildings which contain 3 classrooms that serve around 150 students. Summer of 2018 we are working on a third building within the village, to give accesst to more children within and from surrounding villages. The building also helps with basic medical services such as vaccines, and education for parents who have HIV positive children.
So far we have raised $29,000 and are continuing to fundraise to get a roof on the second building.
