Support Rochelle's Healing Journey

My dear sister and lifetime friend, Rochelle, a very loving, generous and kind person, a conscious activist filmmaker, change agent and devoted mother became deathly ill 6 months ago with the West Nile virus. The virus was caused by a mosquito bite in Marina del Rey, CA. 

In October, 2015 she collapsed from 104.4 fever and was rushed into intensive care for weeks and we didn't know if she would survive. She was near death with meningitis, encephalitis, pneumonia, paralysis, unconsciousness and other complications. It took 10 days to confirm the cause was the West Nile virus.

Since January, she's been in and out of hospitals with new nerve damage symptoms, trouble swallowing and speaking. After many tests and procedures, it was determined there are complications post virus including a large mass in her thymus above her lungs and a autoimmune nerve disease called Myasthenia Gravis. This disease blocks signals from the nerves to her muscles, making it difficult to breath, swallow and speak.

Her symptoms are debilitating and threaten her life.

Western medicine has high risk procedures they want to attempt including high steroid doses, plasma exchanges and open chest surgery removing the tumor and surrounding nerves with the possibility she isn't strong enough to survive the surgery and come off life support.

Holistic Doctors have a variety of strategies that are natural and rebalance the system to eliminate the autoimmune response and shrink the tumor. Non invasive, immune system balancing and healing approach.

After many tears and heartache considering Western meds diagnosis and approach, we are thrilled with the natural holistic approach Rochelle has chosen.

It's a miracle we have found groundbreaking solutions and look forward to her be a shining example of new science breakthroughs she can share with the world.

However, insurance does not cover holistic approaches to healing. A variety of holistic doctors, the non pharmaceutical meds, therapies, and treatments are all out of pocket upfront. It's a big expense over the next 6 months minimum, at a time when Rochelle needs to rest and heal instead of working to fund additional expenses over her overhead.

Since Rochelle has spent alot of time in hospitals or home recovering in the last 6 months, she has run through her reserves and needs help to cover overhead while healing, medical trips to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and a variety of uninsured holistic costs including doctors, meds, supplements, treatments and therapy. All of these expenses are crucial to her health and well being.
