Rolla Dog Park
Donation protected
On July 5, 2017, the City of Rolla heard the voices and requests of our community and officially passed the the resolution of creating a dog park in Rolla, MO (65401).
After much work with Kent Bagnall (owner of Kent Jewelry) and Royal Canin (a subsidiary of Mars, Inc), the project is now ready to enter the second phase, which is raising funds for the project. Initial cost to get the Dog Park up and running is estimated to be $30,000. The initial costing will cover the following:
- Fencing
- Concrete walkways
- Water hydrants for the pets
- Benches for pet owners
These are the bare necessities to allow the citizens of Rolla an effective, safe, and leash free area for their pets to exercise and play. However, there are greater plans than the bare minimum and therefore, funding is requested well past the initial $30k in order to make this an aesthetic and nuturing environment for our local dogs.
Any additional funding raised will be utilized for the following (but not limited to):
- Individual watering hydrants in all three dog park areas for easier pet access to rehydrate
- A shaded pavilion for relief from the weather
- Pet obstacles
- Shrubbery, Trees, etc.
If you are unable to donate monetarily, there are additional ways to volunteer and support this projecty. Please feel free to contact our project coordinators and they can discuss with you the additional ways of getting involved: [email redacted]
We will continue to post updates as we progress forward on this project.
Thank you for your support and we cannot wait to see this dream become a reality!
