Romeo's life saving heart surgery
Donation protected
Romeo was only 12 weeks old when he came into rescue. An adorable and sweet Scottie boy. Nobody realized he’d been born with a birth defect in his heart, pulmonic stenosis and some other abnormalities. His owner wanted to give him the opportunities she couldn’t afford, so appealed to us for help and turned him over to us to try to save him. At the time, he was becoming weaker and not growing in size as he would have otherwise done. When we had specialists examine him, they felt he was in too weakened a condition to survive the surgery that could save his life, and was at great risk for sudden death, so he was put on several medications and remained in a foster home for 9 months. The appropriate medicine, the love of his foster parents and the good care he was provided went a long way, and he grew and enjoyed life to the extent he could with his limitations. What a sweetheart! We decided recently to have the heart specialist reevaluate his situation, as a result, and this time he felt it likely Romeo could make it through the surgery and that it would greatly improve his chances for a normal lifespan. The surgery, medication, and all the testing have been an expensive proposition, so his medical bills were shared between two Scottie Rescue groups, MASTER and Scottish Terrier Club of Greater New York Rescue. We are hoping our caring supporters will help us with this special dedicated fundraiser to help us pay for Romeo’s surgical costs! ANY sized donation will help and be greatly appreciated...it all adds up. Romeo’s a wonderful, deserving puppy and we want to help him get through this challenge! ! ! He’s just a year old now and we are very hopeful that this will provide him a great outcome and long, happy lifetime! !! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Erica Cerny of STCGNY Rescue. Thank you from our hearts!
