Meet Kim and Max Rose…

A couple that has captured the hearts of so many! Just one hour with these two and you would see, feel, and know the love they have for one another!

Like most, they are a couple that weathered many storms... though always took comfort in one another as well as held profound gratitude for and joy in the loving relationships for which they have built.

On December 19, 2016, in the couple's home, Max took his own life with Kim as his witness.

No different than any other suicide, this tragedy has rocked the lives of many from coast to coast. Those that love Max are left asking: "Why?"

Their Story:

Kim and Max met and fell in love in 2008, and eventually married in 2013 in their hometown of Chicago,3 weeks before moving to Nashville.

In late 2010, just weeks after the economy forced a lay off at her job of 7 years, Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer. Max never left her side. He was her comfort and strength during the excruciating months upon months of treatment, mastectomy, and two reconstructive surgeries in 2011.

Following Kim's battle with cancer, she fell and shattered her ankle in February 2012. For three months, she was in a wheelchair as her body endured more trauma, resulting in two additional surgeries to repair her ankle that left her with permanent metal hardware and more scars.

Once again, Max was her support, her love, and her beacon. Never leaving her side...never giving up on his girl. There is no measure to how close and bonded Kim and Max became during these difficult times.

In 2013, the couple relocated to Nashville to pursue a new business venture and to be closer to Max’s daughter while she attended college. The Rose's also brought a national fitness method/studio, The Dailey Method to our great city in January 2014 where they employed an amazing staff all of whom impacted the health and lives of many in their community. Due to financial struggles, Kim and Max sold their fitness business and began discussing filing Bankruptcy.

Despite the thousands of dollars of medical debt and vast amount in business loans, the couple charged forward with their dreams.

As Kim and Max navigated the often mountainous terrain of their journey, Max's long time battle of depression and anxiety began to resurface after the loss of The Dailey Method in May of 2016.

Rapidly, this gregarious, loving, joyful, loyal, trustworthy warrior became persistently sad, anxious, and pessimistic…certainly not the Max known and loved by so many.

Through the summer, fall, and early winter of 2016, Kim endured much sadness, fear, and uncertainty when it came to her dear husband, though suicide was not on her radar. It was not on anyone's radar.

In November, Max purchased a firearm on Craigslist and quietly plotted his pending suicide over the course of the next 30 days. While the couple's trouble increased, Kim had not a clue that Max's mental state had reached such a level of extreme. It is impossible to understand the difficulty of living with a loved one that is quietly being consumed by mental illness.

On Monday, December 19th Max took his life. Kim endured the shock and trauma of watching her husband, her partner for almost 10 years take his last breath in an extremely violent and tragic way. After this tragedy, Kim learned from Max’s family and longtime friends that he first attempted suicide when he was just 20 years old, two decades prior to their meeting and courtship.

In January 2017 the full extent of the couple’s debt was revealed to Kim in her early stages of grief.

Max’s daughter received any and all of his life insurance, which was a wish of Max’s that Kim is of course honoring.  This, however, leaves Kim uncertain of her own future, as Max was the primary breadwinner in the months since the loss of The Dailey Method Nashville.

So many friends and loved ones have inquired how they can help…

By donating to this fund, you will be a part of a

team that helps to release the heavy financial burden from Kim’s already devastated heart.

Kim’s desire is to be able to negotiate her debt down in order to restore her credit score and avoid a looming bankruptcy.  This would give her the opportunity to move out from the home where she saw her husband take his life and acquire good and trustworthy health insurance so that she may continue to receive the proper post-cancer healthcare needed.

Your aid will also make it possible for Kim to move into a new career in real estate as soon as she can recover from this devastating life event.

Kim’s light continues to shine from within. Her bravery is beyond inspiring! Kim gets up day after day in tribute to the love for her husband. Kim’s platform will be to draw attention to suicide prevention and mental illness awareness, and she is committed to this purpose!

We thank you in advance for the outpouring of love and generosity. We thank you for your continuous prayers…they are so very important as Kim navigates through this new chapter of her life and works to restore the mental, emotional, and financial burdens that are all consuming at this moment. She is looking forward to moving on and honoring the light and vibrancy of her dearest love, Max Rose.
