Rowena Wallace has been a much loved Aussie acting legend for 50 years. Starting out in the 1967 TV series You Can’t See Round Corners, Rowena went on to find fame on screen in shows like Hunter and Riptide, to Number 96 and Cop Shop before becoming an international small screen sensation in the 80’s
as TV’s infamous Pat the Rat from Sons & Daughters - a role that became the gold standard of iconic TV bitches.
Rowena’s life hasn’t been all glitz and glam. Like many, she’s done it tough and been very candid about it. Her financial issues exacerbated by devastating personal losses and health issues, and she has always been over-generous. Rowena has been forced to sell most of her 5 Logie awards. She’s been candid about scrabbling around to raise enough money to buy food for her adored dogs, Phoebe & Reubus. As a single woman her dogs are her life and she is always putting their needs above her own.
As Rowena gets set to turn 70, she wants to give acting another shot and find a new lease on life. She needs to live closer to a major city, closer to the heart of the entertainment industry, and closer to her support network and loved ones but has no means to move from her rural Victorian home.
So many of her fans have missed her from the screen! In order for Rowena to get back into acting any contributions, no matter how small, will be hugely welcomed. As a longtime fan and close friend of Rowena's, I want to help her realise her dream. My name is Stephen and I am from Sydney.
Every cent is dedicated to get Rowena working again and her relocation if funds permit. All funds will be transferred to Rowena as soon as received.I will be withdrawing the money from Go Fund me and sending the money directly to Rowena.
