Rowville SC World Challenge
Donation protected
We are a team of 11 students from Rowville Secondary College and we are heading off to Nepal in just 3 weeks!
But before we go, we are hoping to raise some last-minute funds to support us on our 30 days trek and with the rebuilding of a school in Chitwan Province.
In 2015 an earthquake hit Nepal and killed nearly 9,000 people and injured nearly 22,000. Although it is no longer in our media, the country is still recovering and rebuilding and that is why we are going off on World Challenge!
This money will help us to purchase the necessary equipment to rebuild classrooms in the Hillside Academy and it will help us in supporting the local Nepali communities.
The government in Nepal provides free schooling for all children. However, in certain areas, there are not enough classroom facilities for students to attend a full days schooling and in turn, the older children are missing out on vital teaching time. Through World Challenge we aim to support the construction of more classrooms.
This will enable children to get a full days schooling, learn to the best of their ability and reach their full potential, just like us at Rowville SC. In conjunction with the extra classrooms, our team will support the installation of toilet facilities to cope with the extra demand and build compound walls to make sure the schools provide a safe learning environment and remove the distraction of livestock walking into lessons!
We will be collecting donations until December 13th and greatly appreciate any and all support we receive!
Thank you and wish us luck!
