Support Run for Life: No DAPL
Donation protected
For months, both Native and non-Native peoples in the Midwest have been battling the construction of the Dakota Access/Bakken pipeline, a project that will go from North Dakota to Illinois and cross the Missouri River, threatening our water supply. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is making the final decision on whether or not to issue the last permit that Dakota Access, LLC needs to construct the Dakota Access/Bakken pipeline. This final decision is set to be made on May 4th, 2016. We hope that through the power of the people and the power of prayer, we can persuade him not to grant the permit.
To do this we are organizing a run from Cannon Ball, ND to the office of the Army Corps of Engineers in Omaha, NE. The run will be an organized effort between many tribes and will require food, gas, and much emotional and physical support.
To make this possible we will need food for runners for the full week. The run will begin April 24th and the runners will arrive in Omaha on May 3rd, the day before the final decision will be made. There they will deliver their signed petition to the Army Corps. We need around 10 to 11 runners because they will be alternating who is running and who is resting, relay style. We will also need gas for 10 vehicles who will be following the runners and providing physical and emotional support along the way.
We need all the support we can get in the forms of monetary donations, shout outs, and prayers. Please donate to us if you can, and if you cannot, share our story and keep us in your hearts and minds.
