RYLA District 7280
Donation protected
The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an international training program designed to encourage strong leadership in young adults.
Over 30 years ago, District 7280’s RYLA program began at Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA with the encouragement and vision of Rotarian Trueman Mills. At the time, Mills made a promise that the camp would operate at no additional cost to the district.
Since then, RYLA 7280 has provided an effective training experience for young people selected for their leadership potential and has focused on the ethics of positive leadership, problem solving, and the elements of community and global citizenship.
Yet, in recent years, upholding Mills’ promise to the district has proven to be a challenge as the total cost of the program increases yearly by about ten percent.
Local Rotary clubs sponsor high school juniors each year to attend the RYLA program. Still, additional funds are needed to offset campus fees, supplies for campers, keynote speakers, and to defray the cost of participation for local Rotary clubs.
Please consider making a donation to keep the program affordable for local Rotary clubs, which allows the RYLA program to continue leadership development for the young adults of District 7280.
Our goal this year is to raise $3,000 in 30 days.
The fundraising campaign will conclude in a social event on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Tickets for this event must be purchased in advance. Please visit www.picatic.com/ryla7280 for more information.
Any contribution to support RYLA 7280 would be greatly appreciated!
After you’ve made your donation please send an email to [email redacted] with your name, RYLA year, and current email address to join the RYLA 7280 Alumni Network—an exciting new resource meant to help foster connections between RYLArians of all ages!
