Raising for Ryker

On Thursday, October 4th Cassidi, Rick, and their whole family’s lives were turned upside down at a routine well-baby check for their newborn son, two month old Ryker. Ryker’s pediatrician noticed that he was breathing abnormally and a chest x-ray revealed he had an enlarged heart. He was immediately rushed to Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit where he was diagnosed with a rare, congenital heart defect called ALCAPA. Ryker underwent open heart surgery on Monday, October 8 and has not yet recovered. As of today (10/12/18) Ryker is officially off of life support and his heart is now strong enough to work on its own. Cassidi and Rick have been with Ryker around the clock, and have been staying at the Ronald McDonald house to ensure they are always close to the hospital.

Friends of Cassidi and Rick decided to start this fundraiser to support this wonderful, loving family in this extremely difficult time. Funds raised will go toward any medical bills they incur, lost wages from at least a week out of work (likely more), and any needs that come up related to Ryker’s care. If the funds raised surpass the amount needed, the remaining funds will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities
