George Augstell VII has a dream. Like many other people planning their lives he would like to find a job. Not an easy task for a man with Down Syndrome. Many years have been spent going to day habilitation and volunteering at a different places all wit the hope that he may get a break and find a job. That break may be in sight. He has a chance to help himself and others like him by stepping in to manage a coffee shop. It is slated to be built inside a proposed community health center under construction near his home. He just needs some financial help with the start up costs of becoming a Non Profit organization. He plans to hire others with Developmental Disabilities to work for him. He will open his shop to interns with DD to train and learn food service. He will have lots of support from job coaches. family and friends to support his efforts to make this new business thrive. He plans on calling his non profit, "Special Needs of Niagara" and the coffee shop will be called "Uncle Bill's Coffee Shop' in honor of his late uncle who was his mentor and served with the local police force before succumbing to cancer in 2013. His costs include government fees for licensing, inspection, incorporation, operating permits, advertising, attorney fees, uniforms, and other miscellaneous costs not foreseen. He is also seeking the costs incurred with filming this planning process so that others can learn from it, documentary style. He hopes to accomplish all of this for under $5000. Please consider the positive impact he will be making on society and give generously.
