Hi. My name is Sadatrius Joppy and this is my story.
In June 2017, I was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer. I had surgery to remove the tumor which was the size of a grapefruit. The surgeons said they had removed the tumor and gotten all that they could see. After surgery, I began chemotherapy and finished in February 2018 after 12 cycles. After my chemo was complete, I was looking and feeling good! But, in December 2018 a nurse called about my blood work to say that my cancer gene numbers have tripled and that I needed to get PET scans and more blood work. You see, I had only been in remission for a little over a year and that was VERY devastating to me.
On January 06, 2019, I got the dreadful news from my oncologist that the cancer spread to my liver and that there are seven tumors on both right and left liver lobes. What a start to the new year! I was feeling very hesitant about having that chemo again because of the extreme toll it took on my body the first time.
I took two months to juice and think about my life and what really matters most. With the love and strong support of my two darling daughters and close family members and my friends, I decided I’m going to fight this as hard as I can because I want to live...
Although I tried alternative healing methods like juicing to avoid chemo, I still felt pain in my stomach and started my first chemo cycle again on April 17, 2019, a week after my daughter’s wedding. I am thankful to God that he allowed me to be here to witness that very special day. I pray that I can continue to be here for my girls and to see my future grandchildren. Since my treatment, I feel sick at times due to chemo side effects and etc. But most importantly l feel so blessed to be in God’s presence. He’s always with me.
Your financial help will help me to pay for living expenses and medical expenses through August, when I have a judicial hearing to receive disability. I deeply appreciate any help that you can give and please keep praying for me. My health is very life threatening now as the stupid cancer has spread to my liver and I'm feeling pain in my abdomen, stomach and back along with the side effects of chemo. Thank you for reading my story and may God bless you all.
