Sale Water Tower Restoration

Donation protected
This is a community project to restore Sale's original brick water tower built in 1888. Situated in Victoria Park, the tower was designed by leading colonial architect/engineer John Grainger who also designed the Longford Swing Bridge and Princes Bridge in Melbourne.

The goal is to both restore the tower and make it a public asset by developing a water museum and observation deck across the township of Sale and Victoria Park.

Some of the features to be restored include the 40,000 gallon wrought iron tank atop the tower as well as the original timber windows, internal cast iron piping and baltic pine flooring.

The restored tower will also be used as an educational facility for local children to develop an understanding of water and how precious a resource it is.

Any small donation will be gratefully received.
