Help the Santa Maria Kiwanis for Kids Foundation raise funds to build the City of Santa Maria's FIRST Inclusive Park.
Santa Maria Kiwanis for Kids Foundation is a Non-Profit Local Foundation that mirrors the mission statement of Kiwanis International and focuses on raising and dispersing funds that will impact local youth in Santa Barbara County. In 2018 Scholarships alone, the foundation awarded $39,000 to graduating seniors in Santa Maria.
With over 400,000 people in Santa Barbara County and over 100,000 people in Santa Maria, there is currently no play area for children or young adults with disabilities. Currently, the only play area that is all inclusive is an hour away in the neighboring County. With the partnership on Santa Maria Kiwanis for Kids Foundation and the City of Santa Maria, that is going to change.
Continuing that theme Santa Maria Kiwanis for Kids Foundation and the City of Santa Maria has already pledged $40,000 and $88,000 respectively for the purchase of initial equipment and the initial installation costs into the park.
Kiwanis International is a global community of clubs, members and partners dedicated to improving the world, one community and one child at a time. We believe all kids are created equal. That's why it is important to our community that we create play environments using inclusive playground equipment that welcome kids and families of all abilities to learn, play and grow together.
Regardless of the abilities of the child or parent we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to play together. Please join us in raising funds for a much needed asset to our growing community.
