SATO Drone Squad UAS4STEM Nationals
It was a beautiful day on Saturday, May 13th in San Diego as Long Beach’s own SATO Academy Drone Team flew their small unmanned aerial system (drone) “QUADRAGON” and took First Place at regionals among California based teams in the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) UAS4STEM competition in San Diego, California.
By taking California, the team secured a spot at the UAS4STEM Nationals competition held in Muncie, Indiana at the end of August. To represent Long Beach and California and SATO Academy High School to compete at the UAS4STEM Nationals, the team needs to raise funds.
We need your help.
The UAS4STEM competition involves high school students engineering and configuring a small unmanned aerial system and then forming a flight team to safely program and execute autonomous missions, like search and rescue operations. These skills are critical to the future of the drone industry as well as the future of these engineering students.
