Why Now?
As Bali becomes increasingly popular, rice fields are quickly becoming apartments and shopping centers. The original reason that tourists came to Bali (to enjoy the nature and culture) is getting lost in it’s rapid development. We are here to speak up for the land in order to defend farming areas and natural wildlife habitats. The most powerful way to do this is to actually purchase the land. If we are the owners, nobody can interfere with our goal of reforestation. Very few people in Bali have this mindset. Regardless, we are pushing forward to preserve the earth’s green surface.
Think Global, Act Local
The specific plot of land you are here to help us preserve is part of a vast network of rice fields and irrigation systems that make up the remote farming village where we live called Pesaban. The owner of the land is our neighbor, and he needed to sell the land to pay off his debts to the bank. He begged us to buy the land so that it wouldn’t be taken by the bank and destroyed by land developers. Our network of yoga teachers and friends have enabled us to put down the first payment needed to save the land. Now we’re on a mission to pay it off completely.
The Challenge
Bali is a very small, fragile island. It’s extreme popularity has caused a rapid increase in land development
by foreign and local investors. South Bali was the first part of the island to lose the majority of the regions rice fields due to the proximity to the airport and increase in tourism. Now there are plans in place to build a second airport in the north of Bali. The rate of loss of nature is out of control. We are preparing for an explosion of land development in North Bali, and we’re looking for supporters to preserve the land and culture of this magical island. We’re going to achieve this one plot of land at a time!

Plans for the Land
All of the land we preserve will eventually be governed by a nonprofit organization that we will establish for the environmental protection of Bali. Our main goal is reforestation (planting trees). It's the simplest, most effective way to create more oxygen and cool the planet. The land will never be sold for development. All profits made from farming practices will go towards purchasing more land for protection.
