Help Us Buy Bruce Gordon Cycles!
Hi!
Thanks for your interest! We are a collective of bicycle mechanics, activists, makers, and enthusiasts. We believe bicycles can change the world and our first step is purchasing Bruce Gordon Cycles. Much more than just the bicycle company, we will also be acquiring all of Bruce's machines and tools, which will enable us to continue building bicycles and teach the next generation of custom bicycle builders. We will also be acquiring Bruce's amazing collection of custom bicycles and frames, some of which will be available as perks through this campaign.
The Plan:
We have formed a loose collective of passionate people and are working on electing founding board members and writing the bylaws to form a non-profit collective, which will technically "own" Bruce Gordon Cycles and run the Bruce Gordon School and Musuem of Framebuilding. We will run Bruce Gordon Cycles as a non-profit - we are doing this because we love bicycles, not because we want to make money.
On that note, let's answer some FAQs:
Is this Bruce Gordon's project?
Short answer: no. Longer answer: We have Bruce's support and input. He will stay on as an advisor and no bicycle will be put on the streets without his stamp of approval. Bruce is ready to retire and we want to carry on his legacy of well-made bicycles that are Made in California.
Where is my donation going?
For now, it's sitting until we reach the goal. Bruce will not accept it until the goal has been reached and we have no interest in taking anyone's money for any other reason than purchasing the company.
What happens if you don't reach the goal or if someone else buys the company?
Every single cent is refunded.
What else can I do to help?
Get involved! We need people with non-profit experience; people who can get the word out; want to join the collective? Great! Email us! This a community project that will only work if the community is involved.
