Hi my name is Rochelle Reynard.
I am a 1984 race car who was crashed into at the 2018 Bathurst 6 Hour event Mount Panorama.
I first came to Australia in 1984 as a prototype. My debut in 1984 was brief but in 1986 I set the fastest lap at several race tracks and came second in the Australian Driver to Europe Series.
After racing successfully for several years my then owner broke me and I retired to a garage for 15 years. Next year is the 50th anniversary of Formula Ford in Australia and I wish to attend but need your help.
I am again broken and I like my current owner who bought me back to life and we have shared great success since being together winning the Victorian Historic Racing Register's Fb Class for the last three out of four years. My owner was even Club Champion last year.
Many sacrifices were made to attend Mount Panorama at the Bathurst 6 Hour last weekend. Regrettably we only made it to lap two of qualifying. My owner drove 13 hours to get to Bathurst and spent countless hours preparing me when I was hit from behind which is devastating for both of us.
I have significant damage once again which my owner desparately wants to fix but has limited funds to do so. He tells me there is no "Tooth Fairy" or "Easter Bunny". The other driver was fined by CAMS for causing the collision but it does not help me.
I welcome ANY contribution you can make so we can be on track next year and celebrate 50 years with other Historic Formula Fords.
If I was dropped off to an engineering workshop the cost would be approximately $30,000 but luckily my owner is somewhat handy who can assemble me but the parts are estimated at $20,000 which is what I am trying to raise.
Thank you for taking time to read my story.
