Save the Bangkok Restaurant

For 27 years the Bangkok did quite well. Then Alicia lost her husband and business partner. She and her daughters tried "doing it all" -- cooking, waiting tables, hosting, cleaning, and running the business of the business, which her husband had always done. It was impossible, and the bottom line suffered dramatically.
But more importantly, Alicia, Titi and Gina have been great assets to the community. Their generosity has known no bounds. No worthy cause has gone unrecognized by them and no cry for help has gone unheeded. Over these many years, The Bangkok has donated and supported dozens and dozens of causes in a total amount far in excess of our current goal.
So it's time for you, the community, to kindly return their generosity. Please give what you can. Time is of the essence. The Bangkok's doors must remain open. The Soutthivong family's dream must remain alive!
UPDATE -- UPDATE -- Holding a "Second Chance" fundraiser on March 15th. Here are the details:
https://www.facebook.com/events/1871182653148149/
Many of our friends, customers and supporters would like to know how we are doing with our efforts, and how the positive changes we plan on making will help sustain us into the future. Fair questions!
In addition to addressing tax, debt servicing and cash flow issues, we are working each day to improve the customer experience. We are making constant improvements; from ambience to service; from food quality to marketing, we are taking care of large and small issues that have sometimes been overlooked.
As far as specifics go, we have made some important decisions and are implementing necessary changes. With the help of the new Day & Bar Manager, Carl Metcalf, we are looking at everything from cost control, record keeping, vendors, internet presence, and staffing.
We recognize that we must re-engage our long-time customers who have not visited in a while. We are also listening to your comments and suggestions about food and service; we consider these very high priorities!
We know our many friends are not asking for guarantees; business can rarely offer promises.
However, we know we need to earn your confidence through good decision making and delivering a high quality product.
We hope this update helps you to understand what we hope to accomplish in the short term; we intend to be here for the long term!
