Save the Duke of Kent RNLI Lifeboat
Donation protected
In 1979 Eastbourne 8th Lifeboat arrived and was named The Duke of Kent.
The Duke of Kent was in service until 1993 and after this was sold.
Durning its time with the Eastbourne RNLI The Duke of Kent wih its crew was used daily to help people in need and also assist with anything from engine failures needing to be brought back to the Habour to 500 Tonne Cargo Ships on fire.
Fast forward to 2017 and The Duke of Kent is for sale hundreds of Miles away in Scotland.
Our Plan at Allchorn Pleasure Boats is to bring back The Duke of Kent to where it belongs and start the restoration process.
For this we need your help, we need firstly to buy The Duke of Kent, Then we have to arrange the long journey home by road and get it lifted onto the beach, from here we will need the funds to restore it to its former Glory as part of Eastbourne's Maritime History alongside the Allchorn Pleasure Boats.
We ask that if you can donate anything you can towards this we would be very grateful and you would be helping towards preserving the History of our Great town and benifit many generations to come.
Thank you
