Save The Flamingo's on Bonaire
Donation protected
WE NEED YOUR HELP - AGAIN! In 2018 with your help and donations our team of volunteers managed to rescue 355 baby flamingos form certain death. The money you so kindly donated helped us build extra cages and enabled us to purchase food, medical equipment and supplies. Together, we made the best of a tragedy and we have results to show for it. All flamingos were released back into the wild and although a small group still returns every morning for breakfast, their integration back into the wild was a huge success. Check out our Facebook and Instagram to see the pictures and movies. A sincere thank you from us to everyone that helped! And we wish we could leave it there. But sadly, 2019 is gearing up to be as big of a disaster as last year and possibly even worse. We are in the middle of the first hatch and already we have received 60 chicks and juvenile flamingos that were found in a severely weakened and malnourished state outside of their sanctuary. Many have already been killed on the roads and many others have died from starvation within the sanctuary. On several days within the last week we received as many as nine babies. The Rehab is rapidly filling up and our food supplies are rapidly shrinking. You can help us make this year another success story by donating any amount, no matter how small. Every cent will be used to purchase food and medical supplies. Together with your help, we will do everything we can to rescue and release as many flamingos as we can. Organizing the transfer of funds will be Annette Suarez, a trusted volunteer of Bonaire Wild Bird Rehab. All of your donations will be transferred directly into the Bonaire Wild Bird Rehab account here in Bonaire. Please feel free to message us with any questions.
Again, thank you all so much for your continued support !
