Help save Jenie our Orangutan man

Donation protected
Jenie Subaru has spent his  36 years  in the jungles of Kalimantan , loving and caring for  his large family of Orangutans .

Images  of him walking  arm in arm  and   rolling in play with these huge apes  leave me  grinning  forever .

His big beautiful  happy  smile , his cheeky sense of fun  and zest for adventure and life  are   just  memories now  as Jenie is    very ill .  He needs    expensive surgery  and    I need your help to save him.

Jenie  lives in the   remote  town   of Kumai , perched on the  edge of a massive river system  on the island of  Kalimantan  in Indonesia . Kumai is well known as the jump off point  for tours into   Tanjung Putting Orangutan  Reserve  . Jenie and  his family operate a local  tour company with a boat  which  takes guests to distant  river camps  to experience life in the rainforest and  to learn  about Orangutans in the wild.

Jenies father helped to build the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre many years ago  and he became the first guide for this  reserve.

Jenie grew up with the rainforest as his school and playground and with  orangutans and  monkeys as his playmates. His  knowledge of   and respect  for   this environment is overwhelming   and his love of orangutans is infectious.  He is a  big brother  to them and their love for him is  obvious ..Jenie   has been  pro active in protecting this   reserve  from the growing spread of Palm oil Plantations .

Two years ago , whilst guiding guests in the rainforest ,Jenie contracted   Scrub Typhus. Unfortunately local  doctors  failed to diagnose his illness and his typhus went untreated for one year .    Jenie now has Rheumatic Heart Disease resulting in destruction of his mitral valve  in his heart .  His breathing is  now laboured and it  now takes all his energy  to stay awake and hold a conversation  At only 36years of age he is   currently  unable to  care  for  both his  family  of  orangutans and  his sibblings.

My husband John and I have been family to  Jenie  for  the past 22  years .

He  has  given  us so much happiness  over  the  years and we have shared  so many life changing experiences with him.
I  have been liaising with doctors and surgeons in  both  Asia and  USA   concerning  Jenies diagnosis and treatment .I  now need   to raise this   money for Jenies  medical care  in a modern hospital .

Jenies only hope of reaching 40 years of age is to  have his mitral valve replaced  through surgery   .
I have a support team of friends and doctors in the US on standby to receive  and   treat Jenie ASAP  ..   however , surgery expenses  in the US   could be as high as  $200,000.
Should i fall short of this amount , my second option is to take   Jenie to  Cardiac hospitals in either Singapore or Malaysia  where surgery costs will be  lower , but  his care not so comprehensive.
This cause is Urgent....... I need to act soon   ,  while Jenie is  still strong enough to travel and undergo  the  surgery.

Jenies  whole   focus in  his  life has been  caring and protecting  his beloved  Orangutans  ..
Any  size donation  of money will be greatly appreciated.   Please share this cause with your friends on facebook
A big thankyou for your support   ... from myself ........ from Jenie .................  and from the Orangutans
