Save UofL Student Journalism
Independent student journalism at the University of Louisville is in danger , but we're not about to let The Louisville Cardinal fail. A vibrant university newspaper is important not only to student journalists, but to communities of learning. Universities are stronger when student media is strong. And so is journalism: This is a critical training ground where future leaders learn to think critically and independently. We have a lot of work to do to make The Cardinal sustainable over the long haul. We face the same challenges as other media, and we need to adapt and change. But right now, we need your help. This is what we hope will be the first of several $5K Runs. This first effort is to fund contest entries, repair our server and to put money aside for training. It's only a starting point, but an important one, and one way you can support the University of Louisville's 92-year-old journalism tradition, The Louisville Cardinal. I'm Jenni Laidman, and I'm the chair of the Cardinal Board of Directors. All funds from this campaign go directly to the Louisville Cardinal. Lisa Potter, The Cardinal's business manager, is the only person authorized to withdraw from this account.
