In Charlie's memory

My heart is broken, we lost Charlie today! Today his heart stop beating, the doctors tried CPR but it didn't help. He had three himodialyses, his blood creatinine was lowering . The doctors were happy with the outcome . Today supposed to be his day off from dialysis and we were on the way to visit him when we received a call from the clinic..... and the world has stopped........
He had been on intensive treatments for several days now and all the money raised will go towards those firs payments.
Our family can not express our gratitude for all your support , kindness and warm whishes
This year we had the most tragic Valentine's day. We were gifted a bouquet of lillies, but little did we know that they are extremely poisionous to cats. Our poor cat Charlie chewed on some of the leaves and when he didn't get up the next morning we knew something was wrong. We rushed him to the veterinarian, but it was too late. You have to treat lily poisoning within 6 hours of ingestion to have a good chance of survival. For 5 days, the vet tried everything she could, but things weren't looking too well because his kidneys were failing.
We were left with two options: euthanization (putting him to sleep) or to try hemodialysis, a very expensive procedure that would cost $25,000. It's a procedure that is done very rarely, in only a few places across the counrty. Charlie is a part of our family and putting him down would be our worst nightmare, so we decided we would do everything in our power to try to save him. He has already started the treatment which he will be undergoing for the next two weeks.
Charlie, a 2-year-old Scottish Straight, is a very young and lively little cat and we really hope he can make it through. He even has an Instagram (my_charlie) with a 1.8k following, showing just how precious he really is! We love him so much and our family is absolutely devestated.
Heartbroken, we don't know where to turn for help. We can't do it alone and as hard as it is for us to ask, if anyone can help, it will be greatly appreicated. Any amount will count.
By sharing our story, we hope this will send a message to cat owners everywhere about the dangers of lily poisoning and that if left untreated, it can become fatal in as little as three days.
Please help us give Charlie a chance to survive!
Thank you so much.
