Howardian's music studio ‘Studio22 ’ located in Cardiff, South Wales has been open to young people of all backgrounds for over 20 years. The studio is managed by the kind hearted Bernard 'Bud' Harper.

We are a not-for-profit organisation with a mission to give young people aged 5-25 from all backgrounds the chance to rehearse, record, receive tuition and develop themselves. We provide a friendly, safe atmosphere at the studio and regularly supply opportunities to showcase developed talent to friends, family and the general public. Those of you with a keen eye may have spotted us at the 2016 Cardiff Marathon!
Unfortunately, in 2016 Cardiff Council announced that they would be cutting Studio22's funding entirely and the building we are currently located in is scheduled for demolition in 2017/2018.
We were all devastated by the news.
Over 20 years of hard work ended in one day.
We refused to give up on Studio22. Staff and volunteers pulled together and decided to trial an independent Studio22 to see if it was plausible to continue our work. After 6+ months we all agree that things have never been better. One thing is now certain, we have to continue our mission...
Negotiations have been made with long standing friend and collaborator Cathays Youth and Community Centre to relocate Studio22 within a part of their building so we can continue our work. They have agreed to provide us with a space but we must make it fit for purpose. This is fantastic news for us!! The bad news however, is that the space has been unused for years and is in need of building work. Unfortunately Studio22 cannot afford the entire cost of the building work it would require to make this new space fit for purpose.
So now in our final hour of need we are turning to you, the community we have served for so long, in a desperate plea for help. We need to raise £15,000 by the end of the year in order to secure Studio22's relocation.
We are hoping that all the kind people within the community will find it in their hearts to help us in our time of need and help us continue our work for another 20 years.
Any donation made would take us one step closer to our goal whether it be £1 or £100 every penny counts.
What's in it for you?
- Our eternal gratitude for your kind support.
- A brand new and better Studio22! located in the heart of Cardiff!
- Volunteering opportunities, a chance to learn from industry veterans, gain experience and make friends.
