Hi Everyone!
My Story
I have always had a passion for psychology and an intuitive ability to help others through my observations and loving personality. I am currently attending Colorado State University where I have become even more infatuated with psychology and all it can do to benefit myself and others.
I have been blessed with many wonderful people and experiences in my life. Unfortunately, those have always been matched by hardships. The majority of my family members, myself included, have been diagnosed with some type of mental health concern (along with some physical health issues). At a young age I experienced being a child of divorce, and witnessed the effect of bipolar disorder and depression. In 2013, my dad took his own life. I began to internalize my emotions and ended up with Depersonalization Disorder. My younger brother externalized his problems, and ended up spending the past year at a behavioral school called Turning Winds Academic Institute.
Through all of this, and more, I have taken a subconscious and conscious interest in psychology, specifically emotional trauma. This past summer I saw my own counselor, who specialized in trauma and PTSD, to understand and fix my depersonalization. Through these sessions, I learned that I had an inherent knowledge of what I was going through. My psychologist told me I would do very well in a career similar to hers. I had already heavily considered psychology as my major, and after this past summer I realized I would flourish in such a career.
I have always listened and helped my friends and family discuss and understand the trials and tribulations they have gone through. In doing so, my love for counseling has grown even stronger! One of my strengths is my ability to find the positive in every situation and to share that positivity and light with others. I want to continue spreading that mindset, and ability to overcome hardships.
How You Can Help
Aside from getting my masters in psychology at CSU, I want to further my education through books, podcasts, seminars, and with your help, through getting certified in trauma counseling. I don't want to waste any time gaining experience and improving upon my knowledge and ability to help others.
I have been looking into multiple certification programs specializing in trauma counseling. By taking such courses, I can begin my online therapy business and even YouTube channel to help provide insight to both friends and strangers!
I cannot begin to explain how much I appreciate any and every donation! I can't wait to begin helping others find comfort and happiness!
Thank you so much for taking the time to hear my story, and help me, help others. Have a beautiful day!
