SBCC Dance Company

My journey in dance began in tap after watching many Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies with my mom. However it wasn't until college that I realized that dancing was my dream. I was fortunate enough to attain University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) as an undergrad, where my talents were fostered by an amazing faculty that would shape and mold me into the artist I was to become.
While studying under some of the most talented and highly accomplished dancers, I was given the most amazing gift that I carry with me today, being part of UCSB Dance Company under director Delilia Moseley. It is here that I truly recognize what it was that I wanted to do with my life, perform with a major dance company and tour the world!

From UCSB I went on to dance with many amazing artist and companies and got my MFA at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Upon graduating I was accepted into Jennifer Muller/The Works Dance Company where I danced for nearly a decade.

I always knew that I wanted to teach but what I really wanted to do was to create the opportunities for my students that I had as an undergrad. I applied for a position at Santa Barbara City College in the Spring of 2011 and was teaching there by the Fall. By Fall 2015 I was ready to bring my dreams to life. I created the SBCC Dance Company and had auditions in Spring 2016 and had a full company of 16 dancers for the year 2016-17. I submitted works to over 15 festivals and we were accepted into 10! The first being the McCallum Choreography Festival in Palm Dessert, where we took 2nd place for a work I had choreographed. Everywhere we toured we got many great compliments on our company, the high caliber of dancers and the amazing works we brought with us!
Spring 2017 came and we auditioned over 30 students and accepted 20. Our company is "the united nations of dance" (this title I borrowed from Jennifer Muller).

Up till now I have been supporting the travel expense, submission fees and room and board that come along with touring and performing and I gladly do it because I see these young dancers having experiences that will last a lifetime. However funds are gone. We are in desperate need of funds!

This is where you come in, we need your help to continue to tour and perform both in and out of Santa Barbara! We just finished an amazing season, touring to San Pedro, Marina and San Diego, as well as our performance at the New Vic Theater. Spring semester starts right off with a bang; traveling to Los Angles for ACDA (American College Dance Association) in January, then back to Marina to perform with SpectorDance, then to Palm Spring for the Palm Springs Dance Festival, HHII in Santa Barbara, San Diego with Dance on the Edge and with your help to Mexico, for our first international tour!
100% of your contributions go to support our dancers!

Your generosity will costume our dancers, cover travel expenses, room and board and will give these young dancers the amazing opportunity to do what they love and share their gifts and artistry with you and the communities we tour to.
My personal goal is to raise at least $5000 and with your help we can do this! With every contribute of more than $200 we will send you our SBCC Dance Company calendar! Please remember that every dollar helps. I want to personally thank you for your time and I know my dance company is so grateful!
