Help Us Protect Our Dream from a $2 Billion Tech Giant

A DAVID VS GOLIATH STORY (quick summary)
After much hard work and many personal sacrifices, our dream is now threatened by a $2 billion tech giant who has declared they own the word “score” vs our trademark Scoreslayer®. This isn’t just a legal battle—it’s standing up to bullies and protecting the rights of creators. Without you, we can't win. Your support helps us fight for fairness so big boys can’t crush small startups!
Who We Are
Hi everyone, we’re Bill and Joe—two passionate football fans who created Scoreslayer®, a football prediction league app to connect fans worldwide with a fun and revolutionary game. We’ve been self-funded since day one, putting in countless unpaid hours to make our vision a reality.
What Happened
On October 1 this year, we proudly secured the trademark for Scoreslayer®, a name we carefully crafted to reflect our app’s uniqueness. We've sacrificed a lot personally and financially to file the trademark and you can imagine our happiness when it was approved!
But on December 2, a sports media giant, Score Media and Gaming Inc, worth over $2 billion, filed an opposition to our trademark – declaring they own the generic word "score" and no one else can use it...
Their platform, theScore, provides news and gambling, while Scoreslayer® is a niche football game with no overlap in primary services.
Facing a conglomerate this massive, we felt crushed. Their motive undermines not just our app but the principle that everyone can build something original without fear of being steamrolled by giants.
Why We Need Your Help
Court cases are costly and their resources dwarf ours. Any of their lawyers likely earns more than our annual operating expenses. We’ve to pause third-party app work to focus on defending our rights, and without you we can't win.
Crucially, this unnecessary battle isn’t just about us. We must show creators deserve fair and equal chances, especially against big tech.
Where Your Support Goes
Funds raised will cover legal fees to protect our trademark, ensuring we can keep building Scoreslayer® for the football community. Excess, if any, will go towards future costs as when we asked ChatGPT, expenses seem to go as high as US$300,000.
When Do We Need Funds?
Immediately as legal deadlines are tight and we need to appoint a lawyer before end of the year and they've asked for a $10,000 deposit. Your contribution helps us stay in the fight!
Please Join Us in Standing Up for Freedom
We need your help to save Scoreslayer® and to prove big boys can't bully small startups. We should all be free to build our dreams.
Together, we will show David can win Goliath!
